Code of Ethics & Conduct

At the Escola Europea, ethics are not an abstract concept – they are a practical foundation that guides how we teach, collaborate, innovate, and engage with society.

Our Code of Ethics & Conduct defines the principles, values, and standards of behaviour that apply to everyone involved in our activities: staff, trainers, participants, collaborators, and partners. It reflects our long-term commitment to responsible education, integrity, sustainability, and respect across the port, logistics, and intermodal transport sectors.

Why a Code of Ethics?

As an international educational institution working at the intersection of education, logistics, transport, and digital innovation, we recognise our responsibility to:

Act with integrity and transparency
Foster respectful, inclusive, and gender-equitable learning environments
Promote sustainability and social responsibility
Ensure ethical use of digital tools, data, and emerging technologies
Protect trust within our community and with our partners

This Code serves as a shared reference framework to support ethical decision-making and professional conduct in all contexts where the Escola is represented.

The Code of Ethics & Conduct is rooted in the Escola’s core values:

These values are expressed through what we call our Ethical Triangle: respect, integrity, and responsibility, which guides all our actions.

What the Code Covers

The Code of Ethics & Conduct establishes clear standards and guidance on:

Integrity and professional conduct in education, projects, and partnerships
Respect, diversity, gender equality and non-discrimination across cultures, backgrounds, and identities
Sustainability and environmental responsibility in logistics and transport activities
Digital ethics, including data protection, cybersecurity, AI use, and responsible digital behaviour
Confidentiality and data protection, in line with applicable regulations
Ethical reporting (whistleblowing), ensuring confidentiality and protection against retaliation
Oversight and compliance, including procedures in cases of non-compliance

The Code applies to all individuals acting on behalf of the Escola and encourages partner organisations to promote similar principles within their own teams.

Ethics Officer and Reporting

To ensure proper implementation and oversight, the Escola has appointed an Ethics Officer, responsible for:

Promoting awareness and understanding of the Code
Advising on ethical questions or dilemmas
Handling ethical reports confidentially and impartially
Supporting continuous improvement of ethical practices
