Discovering the Port and Forma’t al Port: teachers and students get to know the Port of Barcelona in the final weeks of the year

The Forma’t al Port programme managed to recover the numbers of students trained pre-pandemic and trained 590 students in a single year.

Distance learning, digitalisation and online courses marked the evolution of the Escola Europea’s courses despite the negative effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, as was outlined during the bi-annual Executive Committee meeting of the institution held on the 29th of November 2021.

The Escola Europea to kick off 2022 with a course in railway intermodality

Between the 24th to the 28th of January 2022, the Escola will bring back the in-person railway intermodality courses with the newest edition of the SURCO Operations II course. The course offers advanced training in intermodal logistics and international freight transport.

Escola Europea gets back on board with MOST Italy “GLIPS” course

Between the 6th and the 11th of November, the Escola Europea – Intermodal Transport organised an innovative course with 35 participants to celebrate the first edition of the MOST Italy – GLIPS course.

The “Formati al Porto” project, strongly supported by the AdSP of the Central-Northern Tyrrhenian Sea and the Escola Europea – Intermodal Transport, aims to make it easier for today’s students – who will be the professionals of the future – to learn about the professions of the port-logistics sector, with a specific focus on maritime activities and sustainable intermodal transport.

Port Logistics Community Training

October and November will see the return of the Escola’s YEP MED courses

With the colder months of autumn on their way, the Escola has opened up registrations for the new series of occupational training courses – as part of the European YEP MED project – in port logistics and administrative processes.

148 students join the first YEP MED fully digital international training in Barcelona, Tunis, Civitavecchia and Beirut

The first fully digital international training of the YEP MED (Youth Employment in the Ports of the MEDiterranean) project kicked-off last week in four different port communities: Barcelona, Tunis, Civitavecchia and Beirut. The training course finished on the 31st of May 2021. Each port community was responsible for bringing to life a simulated freight forwarding operator and execute international trade operations between the participating countries.

The Escola Europea and Click&Cargo develop a virtual port to be used in simulation exercises

Participating in the event from the Escola Europea were its director Eduard Rodés and its Chief Business Officer Marta Miquel. The Project Manager from Click & Cargo, Valentina Salinas and the head of development Alex Rodriguez, alongside Marisa Clavero – a teacher from the Institut Lluïsa Cura, and Guillem Sardañés, CEO of the freight forwarding company eGlobe, also joined the press conference to explain the details of the agreement.
